Juandolyn Stokes of On Point with Juandolyn Stokes hosts a very special town hall meeting to discuss police culture and disparities with communities of color.

Last week, OPWJS hosted a town hall meeting in which law enforcement officers from six local jurisdictions were invited to participate in a discussion on Policing People of Color and Why it Must Change and not one officer agreed to participate in the conversation with the community.

We held the town hall meeting without them and allowed our listeners to be the panelist, along civil rights attorney, Maria Banjo who joined Juandolyn to offer her perspective on the discussion. Among the topics that were discussed were The Need for Police Reform, The George Floyd Justice and Policing Act; The DOJ's Restoration of Investigations Against Police Departments, and The Cracks in the Blue Wall of Silence. Additionally, training and accountability were important parts of the conversation.
