Former NAACP President and current President of People For The American Way, Ben Jealous shares on The Rashad Richey Morning Show what needs to change in police culture after the recent killing of Daunte Wright.

Jealous says it's imperative for cities and communities in the U.S. to reimagine and reinvent public safety and policing. He tells Rashad there is currently a small community in New York that has even started replacing portions of its police force with civilians and social workers to address underlying causes of criminality.

Jealous also highlights the importance of the US Senate confirming Kristen Clarke. Ms. Clarke is an attorney who grew up in public housing in Brooklyn, as the daughter of Jamaican immigrants. Now, she's in line to become the first woman and the first woman of color to formally lead the Justice Department's Civil Rights Division since it was created in 1957.
