As we get closer and closer to election day I spoke with Political Commentator and Civic Advocate, Michael Bedenbaugh, on how to look beyond the political rhetoric and truly evaluate policy substance.

Evaluating Candidates Beyond The Ads
With major federal and state offices on the line, Bedenbaugh is on a mission to help cut through all the campaign promises and help people really evaluate policies and candidate's motives with a new app set to hit the market in just a few short weeks.
Bedenbaugh shared we need a place that is going to help us truly evaluate what policy makers are trying to accomplish and how constitutional it actually is. At a time in which many citizens feel their concerns are falling on deaf ears, Bedenbaugh wants to educate voters in an easy and effective way.
Rebuilding vs. Starting Over
I asked Bedenbaugh outright does it make more sense to create something new and start from scratch. His response: it's easier to strip down and rebuild from the existing foundation than to start from scratch.
Bedenbaugh shared that's what made The United States so interesting at its conception, the founding fathers had foresight into how government needed to evolve with the times and that they made intentional decisions for that to happen. There's a growing number of people all across the nation who are frustrated with the current state of our political landscape, but completely throwing out the book and starting over from scratch doesn't fix the problem, it only adds more fuel to the growing fire.
