There's only a few more days for Georgians to cast their vote in the 13th Congressional District special runoff election. Former Gwinnett County School Board Chair Dr. Everton Blair breaks down his policy priorities and background in an exclusive video interview.

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA: With early voting underway, voters across Georgia's 13th Congressional District are preparing to cast their ballots for this upcoming runoff election on Tuesday, August 25th, 2026. In a recent sit down interview, Congressional Candidate Dr. Everton Blair shared what his motivations are for running and his specific policy solutions for the big issues families in Metro Atlanta are facing everyday.

Dr. Blair, who's made history as the youngest and first Black member elected to the Gwinnett County Board of Education, is ready to take on his next big challenge: U.S. Congress. His deep rooted passion for public education, policy and community leadership continue to be pillars in his congressional campaign with the core of his mission being to address affordable housing, healthcare access and public education.

His background has helped shape his policy stances on topics like affordable housing. Dr. Blair shared how he wants to regulate and limit corporations coming in and buying homes right from underneath hardworking Georgians. He shared how he wants to make it easier for Georgians to purchase homes because he believes home ownership is a large part of the American Dream.

Dr. Blair also shared his stance on healthcare access and education. He wants to expand healthcare options to Georgians and lower those unexpected out of pocket prescription costs. Having been an educator for a number of years, Dr. Blair believes in investing into educators and protecting the sanctity of a quality education for all children, which extends far beyond the classroom and into a child's health and wellbeing.

Dr. Blair said many of his policies work hand in hand, and he wants Georgians to know he will work for them, bringing them the positive change they want to see.
