Congressional Candidate Marcye Scott focuses on completing her late father's legislative vision and deliver $46 Million in federal funding for the district.
LAWRENCEVILLE, GA: Ahead of the special runoff election, Congressional Candidate Marcye Scott emphasized continuity, practical delivery and community leadership over big campaign promises. Currently Marcye Scott is competing in the runoff to fill the remainder of the term for Georgia's 13th Congressional District following the passing of her father, longtime U.S. Rep. David Scott.
A Policy of Continuity and Completion
I asked Marcye about her core policy platform, she made it clear her primary goal is to complete her father's vision rather than introduce a new legislative agenda given it's an abbreviated term. She shared she's ready to hit the ground running on getting the funding her father fought for to the hands of the people he was fighting for.
The Raw Emotions of it All
During the conversation, Marcye shared a personal memory that brought her to tears recalling how her father's been teaching her all along how to be a leader. She also reflected on the broader impact of her candidacy and a trending change in who Metro Atlanta wants representing them.
