Last Friday's guest on, OPWJS was Dr. Rosemarie Allen, President and CEO of Institute for Racial Equity and Excellence.

Dr. Allen shared her thoughts on equity in which she said, "Equity will be achieved when her race does not predict her outcomes." Dr. Allen also shared that it is important to consider where Black people started in this country (slavery) to understand where we are now because history was designed for Black people to be behind.

She added that individual racism is personal and does not work to Black people's advantage, while systemic racism is designed to oppress Black people, especially when all the systems work together as designed. Dr. Allen also shared with Juandolyn examples of how White Privilege and Supremacy can be used as a weapon against Black people.
